Sauvignon Blanc is my current flavor of the month

Not sure how it happened, as when I met my husband I wouldn’t even drink white wine… only red. Then one summer a few years ago, I was in the mood for a glass of wine and it was just too hot for red… so I opted for white. After that, during a few tasting menus, I was introduced to more and more white wine varieties… all of which I enjoyed. Now, I mostly drink white! I still love red wine, but will reach for a bottle of chilled white first.

My most recent obsession has been Sauvignon Blanc — specifically from New Zealand. However, I am just as happy with French, South American and/or California vintages. Therefore, in honor of my current favorite variety and, in order to meet this month goal to post a “list” everyday — I present to you some of the Sauvignon Blancs (and blends) that I have tried recently and enjoyed:

  1. Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand)
  2. Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc (Sonoma County, CA)
  3. Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc (Geyserville, CA)
  4. Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand)
