Hello and Goodbye in West Roxbury

As we all know by now, Vintage has shut it’s doors in West Roxbury.

I also mentioned last week that a new seafood joint… Fresh Catch To Go… is moving into the original Ferns location. Construction is going on right now, but no news on when they are planning to open.

In this week’s Bulletin, there’s news about two new ice cream opportunities coming our way! The Real Deal is slated to start selling Emack and Bolio’s ice cream in the near future, AND — a Champs Ice Cream shop is moving into the redone location formerly housing L’Essense Art Gallery.

Oh, and in case you missed it a while back… we’re getting a Whole Foods Market in Dedham! That’s the best news yet! I hear it’s going in back by CostCo. You can see more details on the WF website.

The depressing thing is that the newspaper article also mentions that there are currently 20 vacancies on Centre Street. Hopefully we can attract some decent vendors… not just funeral homes, police supply stores and banks!

UPDATE: According to Boston Menu Pages, the same mall that is going to house the Whole Foods Market in Dedham, is also going to have several restaurants! (boy, I feel out of the loop on this one!) These include: Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Legal Sea Foods, Finale and b.good, as well as a new restaurant from the folks at the Aquitaine group. NICE!!! Culture is finally coming to the culture less…
