Today’s Box

It’s that time again… the 3-yo and I were very excited to see that familiar green Boston Organics box sitting on the porch when we got home today. Like two little kids (okay, one of us IS a little kid), we rushed inside to see what our bi-weekly box contained.

We were psyched to see:

  1. 2 Braeburn Apples
  2. 2 Cameo Apples
  3. 1 Haas Avocado
  4. 9 Bananas
  5. 4 Ears of Corn
  6. 1 Cucumber
  7. 1 Head of Fennel (fronds included)
  8. 1 Mango
  9. 2 Oranges
  10. 1 Bosc Pear
  11. 3 Green Pears
  12. 5 Red Potatoes
  13. 1 Tomato
  14. 1 Bag of Loose Spinach

I am most excited about the fennel. I have definitely been craving a shaved fennel salad… perhaps with a little celery. We’ll see…

I hope I get a fennel too! I love them. My favorite fennel salads are one with orange segments and Moroccan dried olives and another with with lemon and shaved apple.

    Enjoy your fennel!

p.s. are you sure only ONE of you is a little kiddle?

How long have you been using Boston Organics? Happy so far? I’m thinking of giving it a shot.

  3. Erin says:

Wow! You must get the huge box. I get the smaller half veggie, half fruit box. I don’t think I’ll be getting any Fennel this week though :( I am pretty excited about the corn!

I’ve been a customer since they began and I’m very happy with the service. I change my selection list, size of box and mix of fruit and veggies as I need to and find it works for two good eaters.

I too have been using Boston Organics for a few years… on and off, depending on our eating habits. Right now, I get the $37 box (half fruit, half veggies) delivered every two weeks.

From a service perspective, this company is awesome. They are super flexible, very friendly and offer quick response times. The delivery folks are great too… very dependable.

You find over time which items go bad faster than you can eat them and which items are your favorites. Like Penny said, we just adjust our box (by editing the “NO List”) to omit anything we don’t care for or are not good about eating quickly.

You can cancel after one shipment… so it’s definitely worth a try.
