And here’s an entire list of all your options in Massachusetts. In fact, this Massachusetts Grown website also outlines where you can buy local products and foods, lists out various co-ops and provides a list of education resources for locally grown practices.
Also, my friend over at Calamity Shazaam in the Kitchen wrote about a new local produce delivery company called In Season. They are currently serving: Arlington, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Charlestown, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Medford, Newton, Roslindale, Salem, Somerville, Watertown and West Roxbury. I looked at their product lists and they have a fair amount of items for sale and even list which local farm the items come from. My one comment would be that the prices are quite high. I suppose this is not unexpected; however, it’s unfortunate that we have to pay more to get things that are grown closer to home. Sort of an oxymoron, isn’t it?
