Juicy – Day 1 Wrap-up

Well, I am on my final juice of the day… it’s 7:48pm. I was pretty hungry all day, so I decided to plot all 7 days to see what the daily calorie intake is. It’s kinda low… today’s [juice only] total was 868 — SO not enough. I had 1 oz of mixed raw nuts in the morning and another right now… which adds an additional 350 calories, for a daily total of 1218.

dsc007226pm — Chili Orange
“This juice is full of Vitamin C and the enzymes in the pineapple are great at dissolving the mucus that can accumulate in your system if you have a build-up of toxins. The chilies not only give this juice a bit of a kick, they are rich in carotenoids.

8 0z carrots
8 oz pineapple
1/2 lime
1/2 small chili, deseeded
1 tbsp chopped cilantro

Juice the carrot, pineapple and lime. Pour in blender with chilies, cilantro and a few ice cubes. Vit C 72mg – Selenium 4mcg – Calories 240

dsc007237:45pm — Big Red (and 1 oz mixed raw nuts)
“This juice is full of phytonutrients including lycopene, which has been proven to have anti-cancer properties.”

7 oz hulled strawberries
14 oz tomatoes
Few basil leaves

Juice all the ingredients together and service over ice. Vit C 222mg – Ca 60mg – Magnesium 48mg – Cal 122.

The Chili Orange was really good… and the Big Red… not so much. I’m just not a tomato juice person. It’s not that it was bad mixed with the strawberries, it’s just that it was too much tomato. I also didn’t have fresh basil, so maybe that would have helped. If I were to make this again, I would probably add one additional fruit… but not sure what.

Update 2/24, 11:28am: I allowed myself two small square of 72% dark chocolate.
