This past Sunday, the Boston Globe Magazine listed out the “Best of the New” for everything from Food, to People and Ideas and Shopping. I thought it would be fun to list these out, as I am just as out-of-touch with the dining scene right now as many of you.
Clearly, I haven’t been blogging… so clearly, I haven’t been eating out. Lots of stuff going on in my life right now… but the last thing I want to do is leave you all out in the cold. So here it is… the places that the Boston Globe thinks are the best thing going since sliced bread (pun intended):
The so called” Veggie Meccas“:
The “Old Places, New Wrinkles“:
And last, but certainly not least, “Markets and More“:
So what tops BFW’s list? Well, I definitely need to get to Ten Tables. I feel like a jackass for never having been — to ANY location! I’d like to also try Dorado Tacos (have heard great things), Technique (just b/c it’s WAY cool that it’s run by the students at the Cambridge Culinary Arts School) and I am EXTREMELY anxious to pay a visit to H Mart (who doesn’t love a humongous Korean grocery store???!!!).
That said, I’m sure every place on this list is as good as the next. Been to any of these and want to give a little feedback? I’d love some recommendations. The Husband as me on a freezing spend… but it ended TODAY (2/1) — so I am ready for Date Night to start up again!
Hey Tammy, We just went to Ten Tables in JP and it was excellent. Good wine list, good beers, some specialty drinks.
Be warned Tuesdays and Weds are Prix Fixe menus. Tues. is a wine pairing menu for $42 a head, and Weds is same without out the wine for $33 a head.
I like prix fixe because we get to taste a lot of options for a decent price, but the menu’s are mostly different than what you will see online as the regular menu.
Food was all excellent, service was excellent too. Took a week and a half out to get a reservation for the Weds. we went.
